DeepSeek is making waves in the music industry. The latest version, DeepSeek-R1, is proving to be just as effective as some of the top AI tools available today.
Just a week after its launch, DeepSeek is already being used in Bollywood.
While no screenwriters have openly admitted to using it for scriptwriting, one well-known composer has taken advantage of its capabilities to create music for an upcoming Salman Khan movie.
Santhosh Narayanan, a popular composer, revealed in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that he used DeepSeek to compose songs for Sikandar, starring Salman Khan, and Retro, featuring Pooja Hegde.

According to him, the AI tool significantly reduced his workload and saved him a lot of time.
“DeepSeek has been a game-changer for me, especially for coding in Reaper. It has cut down my stem export time by over 60% for Retro and Sikandar. AI reasoning and generative AI are evolving rapidly, and this competition benefits both creators and users,” Narayanan wrote.
When someone jokingly suggested that he was promoting DeepSeek, he replied, “LOL, it has already cost NVIDIA $500 billion. It doesn’t need my endorsement.”
DeepSeek was developed with a $6 million budget and runs on advanced NVIDIA chips.
With AI becoming more powerful in creative fields, it’s clear that tools like DeepSeek are shaping the future of music composition.
